When you are browsing hundreds of original artworks, the filter sidebar is your most powerful tool. Whether you know exactly what you want — a large-format landscape painting in blues and greens under $2,000 — or you are narrowing down from a vague instinct about style or subject, the filters let you cut through the full collection and surface only the works that match your criteria. Every filter you apply stacks on top of the others, so the more specific you get, the more targeted your results become.

Opening the Filter Sidebar

The filter sidebar appears on the left side of any category page. To access it:
1

Navigate to a category or the full collection

Go to any category page — for example, Painting — or browse the full collection at annapurnaart.com/category/all/arts.
2

Locate the Filter By panel

The Filter By panel runs down the left side of the page. Each filter type is listed as a collapsible section: Style, Medium, Subject, Material, Color, Orientation, Size, and Price.
3

Select your options

Click any value to apply it immediately. Your results update in real time as you make selections.
4

Clear or reset filters

To remove an individual filter, click it again to deselect it. To clear all size filters at once, use the Clear button within the Size section. To start fresh, reload the category page.

Filter Types Explained

Style

Filter by the artistic movement or visual style of the work. This is useful when you know the aesthetic you are drawn to — such as loose, gestural abstraction or the precise draftsmanship of Academic Art.
StyleDescription
AbstractNon-representational work focused on form, color, and composition
Abstract ExpressionismGestural, emotionally driven painting in the tradition of mid-century New York
Abstract ImpressionismSoft, atmospheric abstraction influenced by Impressionist light
Academic ArtTechnically precise work following classical traditions and formal training
Action PaintingProcess-driven work where the act of painting is part of the artwork
AnimeWorks influenced by Japanese animation aesthetics
ArchitecturalArt focused on built structures, geometry, and spatial design
3D ArtWorks with a three-dimensional quality or effect

Medium

Filter by the material or technique the artist used to create the work — for example, if you specifically want an acrylic painting or a digital work.
MediumType

Subject

Filter by what the artwork depicts or represents. Subject filters are especially helpful if you are decorating a specific space — for example, a botanical print for a study, or an architectural drawing for an office.

Material

Filter by the physical materials used in the artwork — relevant when the tactile quality or archival properties of a work matter to you. Materials include canvas, paper types, stone, metal, and more.
Material
Acrylic (paint/surface)
Alabaster
Aluminium
Bamboo Paper
Bark

Color

Filter by the dominant color in an artwork. This is particularly useful for interior designers and buyers who need a piece to work within an existing color scheme. Each color shows the number of matching artworks in parentheses.

White110
Black86
Blue67
Orange70
Red66
Yellow62

Combine the Color filter with Orientation and Size to quickly find artworks that will suit a specific wall or room. For example: Blue + Landscape + L gives you wide-format blue-dominant artworks over 100 cm — ideal for a sofa wall.

Orientation

Filter by the physical orientation of the canvas or print. Select one or more of the three options:
OrientationDimensions
LandscapeWidth is greater than height — suits wide walls and horizontal spaces
PortraitHeight is greater than width — suits tall, narrow walls or statement positions
SquareEqual height and width — versatile for corners, stairwells, and gallery walls

Size

Filter by the physical dimensions of the artwork in centimetres. Choose a preset size band or enter a custom height and width range. Preset size bands:
BandDimension range
S (Small)Under 50 cm
M (Medium)50 – 100 cm
L (Large)100 – 150 cm
XL (Extra Large)Over 150 cm
Custom range: Enter specific values in the Height and Width fields under Or Input a range (cm), then click See Results to apply.
The size filter uses centimetres by default. If you are working in inches, multiply by 2.54 to convert before entering a custom range (e.g., 24 inches ≈ 61 cm).

Price

Filter by your budget using one of six predefined price bands. These cover the full range of works on the platform, from affordable entry-level pieces to investment-grade sculpture.
Price BandRange
Under $500Accessible originals, prints, and drawings
500500 – 1,000Mid-range paintings and mixed media

Use the Find Art Within Your Range section on the homepage as a shortcut — click any price band directly from annapurnaart.com to jump straight to filtered results without opening the sidebar manually.

Combining Multiple Filters

All filters work together — every selection you make is added to the active filter set, and results update instantly. There is no limit to how many filters you can apply at once. Example workflows:
  1. Open the full collection at annapurnaart.com/category/all/arts
  2. Select Landscape under Orientation
  3. Select L (100–150 cm) under Size
  4. Choose a dominant color — e.g., Green or Blue
  5. Set a price band — e.g., 500500 – 1,000
  6. Review the filtered results and click any artwork to see full details

Sorting Results

Once you have applied your filters, you can sort the remaining results using the Sort By dropdown at the top of the results panel. The current sort option is:
  • Best Match — Annapurna Art’s default ranking, which surfaces the most relevant works for your active filters

Clearing Filters

  • To remove a single filter, click the active option again to deselect it.
  • To clear the Size filter entirely, click the Clear button inside the Size section.
  • To reset all filters, reload the category page or navigate back to the category from the top menu.
Reloading the page clears all active filters. If you have a combination of filters you want to return to, note them down before navigating away so you can reapply them quickly.
